Flash flood takes away six acres in Punakha

Sixteen households of Betakha and Wakhuna villages in Punakha lost more than six acres of paddy and chili fields when they were either washed away by a flash flood or buried under sand and boulders at around 3 am on June 4.

The flash flood was confirmed to have occurred from swelling streams like Jechulum. Relief works are underway.
